Delivery of emergency equipment to Swedish Local Fibre Alliance
Micropol Fiberoptic has been entrusted with delivering field-tactical fiber optics to the country’s municipal networks to facilitate repair work during crisis situations.
At the international defence exhibition DSEI, Micropol introduces OptiScan – a rugged, easy-to-use optical fiber measurement tool designed for the most demanding tactical communication environments.
Developed and tested in close collaboration with the Swedish Armed Forces, OptiScan enables fast and accurate verification of tactical fiber networks – from command-and-control systems to advanced radar systems.
With the ability to test up to 12 channels simultaneously in just 30 seconds, OptiScan delivers a dramatic time saving compared to conventional optical power meters. It supports the most popular optical connectors, including Micropol’s FALCON™ and PROCON™ expanded beam solutions, as well as HMA, HMC and others. The tool can measure multiple cable reels connected in series, check links while cables are still on the reel, and operate in extreme conditions from -20°C to +55°C.
OptiScan features two measurement modes:
Designed for single-person operation, the complete field kit includes a charger, loopback plug, cleaning kit and rugged IP67 case. Already trusted by the Swedish Armed Forces – one of the most digitalized in the world – Optiscan ensures mission-critical networks remain operational before, during and after deployment.
