The strong demand for Micropol’s offering continues
For the fifth year in a row, the strong demand for Micropol Fiberoptic’s offering resulted in significant sales growth. Net sales grew by 46% during 2025.
As Sweden places increasing emphasis on civil preparedness, the demand for robust and resilient communication solutions has surged. To meet these needs, Micropol has introduced a new Preparedness Kit, designed to keep vital communication channels functioning even during fiber network disruptions.
Developed in collaboration with the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) and The Swedish Local Fibre Alliance (Svenska Stadsnätsföreningen), the kit enables rapid bypassing of temporary fiber outages—an essential capability when society faces crises, elevated threat levels, or infrastructure interruptions.
The rollout of the kit is already underway across many municipal networks as part of the national initiative “Motståndskraft och uthållighet” (“Resilience and Endurance”), assigned to The Swedish Local Fibre Alliance by PTS in 2022. The initiative aims to ensure secure, stable communication systems that can withstand demanding conditions.
At the core of Micropol’s solution are lightweight, ergonomically designed backpacks used for swift deployment of 500-meter optical fiber cables. These systems are engineered for challenging environments such as tactical operations, broadcasting, mining, and exploration. The included FALCON connectors — fully compatible with optical networks used by the Swedish Armed Forces in the field — ensure reliable performance even in harsh conditions.
Each kit also includes cleaning tools developed to help technicians quickly prepare fiber contacts prior to installation, along with short fiber patch cables designed for direct connection to active or passive equipment such as switches and servers.
As fiber networks increasingly form the backbone of Sweden’s critical infrastructure, the need for secure and resilient communication pathways has never been more urgent. Micropol’s Preparedness Kit aims to deliver that resilience — ensuring that essential communication can continue when it matters most.
