The FALCON Junior D-hole is the only junior-size expanded beam bulkhead receptacle in the world available with 1–12 fiber channels and a beam size approved according to MIL-DTL-83526/21C. The receptacle is designed for heavy-duty tactical applications.

This bulkhead receptacle delivers unmatched density and data rates, tripling the density within a standard military footprint. It mates directly with tactical fiberoptic cables fitted with junior-size plugs. It is equipped with high-performance strain relief, providing the robustness required for demanding field deployments.

The FALCON Junior D-hole is mounted on panels inside ODF boxes. The receptacle features a small installation footprint, enabling compact ODF integration. It is especially well suited for multi-connector installations, as it can be inserted from inside the panel and secured by tightening the locknut from the outside—often simplifying installation compared to internal ODF mounting.

The FALCON Junior D-hole is used for tactical communication in military command and control centers, containers, converters, and switches, and is deployed in built-in ODF enclosures in various types of defense vehicles, air defense units, and other space-constrained applications.

How to clean the expanded beam connector?

This instruction covers the cleaning procedure for the expanded beam (EB) connectors and its optical interface (mating face, optical path lenses, EB insert and alignment features). These connectors are non-contacting; therefore, mating the connector without cleaning first typically will not cause permanent damage to the optic interface.

What is an Expanded Beam Connector?

The fiber optic technology allows a large amount of data to be transferred with low insertion loss even in harsh environments, without risk of damage to the fiber. The Expanded Beam Connector is used in several harsh environments such as mining, transportation systems, outside broadcasting, offshore and subsea, and in different types of industries.
