The FTTx architecture consists of a passive optical network (PON) that allows several users to share the same connection, without any active components. A feeder fiber is brought to a distribution hub. And from there, a passive splitter is used to connect up to a high number of users to the same feeder fiber. This point-to-multipoint architecture dramatically reduces network installation, management, and maintenance costs.
Micropol’s passive fiber optic splitter modules are mounted in 19”-ODFs, wall boxes or freestanding boxes. Distribution boxes with built-in splitter modules are used for the distribution of TV in fiber optic networks etc. Each unit is manufactured according to our customer's wishes and can be fitted with various types of splitter in order to function optimally in the prospective application. Each unit is verified and ID marked. The measurement protocol is enclosed and measurement data is stored in Micropol’s database.
